Video: The National Anthem of Armenia Played in Turkey in Honor of Chess Player Mariam Mkrtchyan

On November 14, the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia was played in Antalya, Turkey, in honor of Armenian chess player Mariam Mkrtchyan, who secured the title of European champion for players under 18 years old ahead of schedule.

Before the final round, Mariam solidified her lead by defeating Irish chess player Trisha Konyamar in the 8th round, raising her score to 7.5 points, making it unattainable for her competitors.

At the beginning of 2022, Mariam also claimed the title of world champion among those under 18, winning all 11 of her matches.
