Defendant in the Brutal Murder Case of Pemzashen Claims No Connection to Charges: Defense Lawyer

The defense lawyer of Arkadi Barseghyan, arrested in connection with the murder of a woman and her two minor children in Pemzashen, is convinced that his client has no connection to the charges brought against him. He stated this in an interview with reporters.

Currently, a motion regarding the detention of the suspect Arkadi Barseghyan is being examined in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Province.

"There is a lack of substantial suspicion. The preliminary investigation body could have verified the alibis provided by Arkadi and confirmed that he has no relation to the charges against him," declared Minasian.

The lawyer declined to answer other questions, stating that they are part of the preliminary investigation secrecy.

It is noteworthy that the bodies of a 31-year-old resident of Pemzashen and her children, aged 12 and 8, were discovered in the bedroom of their own home on November 9. The hands of the murdered woman and one of the children were tied.

A criminal case has been initiated based on Article 155, Part 1 (murder) of the RA Criminal Code, and Article 155, Part 2, Clause 5 (murder of a minor).

The police have arrested two suspects aged 32 and 36. One of them, 32-year-old Vruyr B., was detained today.
