Putin Signs Decree on Foreign Citizens Serving in the Russian Armed Forces

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree regarding the procedure for foreign citizens to serve in the Russian Armed Forces. The corresponding decree was published on the legal information internet portal.

“This regulation determines the procedure for voluntary military service by citizens who hold citizenship (nationality) of a foreign state, residency permits, or other documents confirming the citizen’s right to permanent residence in the territory of a foreign state, as well as foreign citizens in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation...” states the decree.

Putin has also signed a decree on the procedure for coordinating public authority issues in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions with federal authorities. The decrees come into effect on November 14, 2022.
