Men ‘Collaborating’ with Russians Tied to Street Poles in Kherson
The British Daily Mail has published a photograph showing two men tied to metal poles on the street. The source details that the photo was taken in the Ukrainian city of Kherson.
According to Daily Mail, the individuals depicted in the photo are allegedly collaborators who worked with Russian forces while the city was under their control. The source reports that many who collaborated with the Russians have fled the city in recent weeks. However, the two men shown in the photograph were detained yesterday, awaiting their fate.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated last night that investigators have uncovered over 400 war crimes committed by Russian forces, and both military personnel and civilians' bodies have been found in the Kherson region. It is important to note that Kherson has been under Russian military control since March 2, 2022.
Furthermore, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has agreed to the proposal by Commander Sergei Surovikin of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine to protect the Kherson region from the left bank of the Dnieper River. Surovikin stated, “Having assessed the situation comprehensively, it is proposed to carry out defense from the left bank of the Dnieper. I understand that this is not an easy decision. At the same time, we preserve the most important thing: the lives of our servicemen and the safety of the troops, which makes holding the right bank of the river an unpromising endeavor. In addition, this releases resources and forces that can participate in active operations in other directions of the operation.”
It should be noted that Kherson is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River.
