Families of Suspects Evacuated from Village After Arrests: What the Residents of Pemzashen Are Saying

Following the brutal murders in the village of Pemzashen in the Shirak region, the situation is relatively calm today. According to Armenpress, following law enforcement's relevant actions and the naming of suspects in the murder, the families of the suspects have been evacuated from the village.

Residents shared with Armenpress that the families of two individuals suspected of murdering 31-year-old Zarine Meliksetyan and her two children, aged 8 and 12, have been removed from the village. One villager, Socrates Petrosyan, noted, "At this moment, the village is calm, there is no tension, no one wishes to take revenge or confront them. My grandchildren are attending kindergarten, and if there was fear, they would be at home right now." He added that the situation was tense in the first two days after the names were announced.

Another villager, Volodya Hakobyan, is confident that from now on, neither the relatives of the victims will be able to live in that house nor the relatives of the criminals in the village. "They will take their heads and run away," he said.

The bodies of the 31-year-old Pemzashen resident and her two children, aged 12 and 8, were discovered on November 9 in the bedroom of their own home. The hands of the deceased woman and those of one of the children were bound. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (murder), and Article 155, Part 2, Clause 5 (murder of a minor).

Police have arrested two suspects.
