Citizen Who Fired Over 30 Shots Arrested in Yerevan
The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting investigative and procedural actions regarding the case of gunshots fired in the yard of one of the buildings on 7th Street in Nor Nork. This action was initiated under Article 297, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
The call reporting gunshots and disturbances in the area was received on November 13, 2022, at 16:14. As a result of necessary measures taken, the identity of the individual alleged to have committed the crime was established. He is a 44-year-old resident of the same neighborhood.
During the investigation at the crime scene, 31 shell casings and 2 bullets were recovered. A personal search of the 44-year-old man revealed 24 S&B 7.62x25 caliber bullets. His wife provided the investigating body with firearms resembling a ‘COLT’ type, a ‘Makarov’ type pistol, as well as ‘INFORCE’ marked pistols, a ‘ВЕПРЬ-КМ’ type assault rifle, 66 9mm caliber bullets, 1 shell casing, and 2 magazines, all of which were confiscated.
Several individuals have been interrogated, and appropriate examinations have been appointed. The 44-year-old man has been arrested based on the grounds of direct and reasonable suspicion. The investigation is ongoing.
