Belarusian Medical Facilities Filled with Russian Soldiers: Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff
On the morning of November 13, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported that social tensions are significantly rising in the Brest region of Belarus, particularly in areas where, according to Ukrainian authorities, Russian military forces are stationed.
Specifically, the Ukrainian side claims that local hospitals are filled with Russian soldiers who are becoming ill en masse due to inadequate conditions in tent encampments. The Ukrainian defense ministry notes that Belarusian doctors are forced to refuse treatment to Belarusian citizens in need of medical care.
The Ukrainian side asserts that Belarus is supporting Russia in its invasion of Ukraine by accepting and placing Russian troops on its territory. Additionally, it claims that Russian military forces are launching attacks on Ukrainian territory from Belarus.
In early October, Belarus accused Ukraine of intending to strike its territory. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denied these accusations from the Belarusian side.
On October 15, Belarus's Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of the first echelon of Russian troops intended to reinforce the regional group of forces. This troop build-up was explained as a response to the increasing military potential of NATO near Belarus's borders. Overall, around 1,500 rail platforms loaded with munitions and equipment were sent to Belarus in October.
