VIDEO: Ukrainian Armed Forces Special Units are in Kherson, Says Zelensky

Ukrainian Armed Forces special units are in Kherson, announced the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky stated that this is a historic day. “We are in the process of returning Kherson,” Zelensky noted.

Videos have surfaced online showing local residents ceremoniously welcoming the Ukrainian armed forces special units.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense had announced the completion of its forces' withdrawal from the eastern bank of the Dnieper without losses. Kherson was the first major city and the only regional center that was captured by Russian armed forces during military operations. Subsequently, Russia declared this area part of its territory along with Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region and the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics.

Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, also stated that Russia will continue to consider Kherson as its territory and intends to retake the city in the future.

In relation to this topic, the President of France tweeted: “I welcome the return of Kherson to Ukraine, which is an important step towards the full restoration of its sovereign rights. France stands with the Ukrainians.”
