Operation of Gas Station Halted by Urban Development and Fire Safety Inspectorate
The Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia conducted an inspection at a gas station operated by an individual entrepreneur located at 90 Mayrakayani Street in the Parakar community of the Ararat region. The purpose of this inspection was to verify compliance with the requirements of an earlier directive issued by the Inspectorate.
During the follow-up inspection, Inspectorate specialists found that the previous requirements had not been met. It was confirmed that the directives related to the elimination of violations in urban planning and construction norms that had been identified at the operational gas station had not been fully complied with, and the identified violations had not been rectified. This situation poses a serious risk to the safety of the gas station's operation, creating a direct threat of fire hazards to people and the environment.
Given the risk posed to public safety, the head of the Urban Development and Fire Safety Inspectorate made a decision to halt the operation of the gas station. The operator of the gas station has been required to completely empty and neutralize the fuel in storage tanks within two days from the receipt of this decision.
