Disabled Soldiers to Depart for Jerusalem

On November 10, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Defense's social protection department to discuss the third group of disabled soldiers who will be traveling to Jerusalem as part of the charity program "Pilgrimage to Jerusalem." The charity initiative aims to support the psychological recovery and reintegration of former soldiers who sustained serious injuries during the 44-day war. This program was developed through the joint efforts of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Standing Committee and the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The initiative has garnered the support of the Armenian Minister of Defense, who has taken on a leading role in its implementation alongside the National Assembly's Defense and Security Standing Committee.

During the meeting, the chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Standing Committee, A. Kocharyan, emphasized that the Ministry of Defense's involvement adds further significance to the program's mission: to ensure a continuous connection between the army and the defenders of the homeland, keeping them under the state and military's constant care and strengthening the bond between the army, its defenders, and the church.

This vision is embodied by the involvement of both veterans who have experienced the trials of war and the spiritual leader of the Armenian Armed Forces, Father Movses Sargsyan, who will accompany the injured soldiers on their pilgrimage. The spiritual leader conveyed the blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians to the participants of the pilgrimage.

Welcoming the participants, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense, A. Sargsyan, expressed full support for the program and emphasized the importance of ensuring its continuity, expressing hope that as many wounded soldiers as possible will participate in the initiative.

The next group is set to depart for Jerusalem on November 15, accompanied by representatives from the National Assembly's Defense and Security Standing Committee.
