What Mirzoyan Proposed to Blinken: The American Side Has Not Yet Given a Final Response

The newspaper 'Pats' reports that on November 7, a meeting took place in Washington between Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to the official announcement, Mirzoyan and Bayramov exchanged thoughts on the elements of a potential peace agreement and noted that there are several issues that still need to be addressed.

The parties agreed to intensify their negotiations and to hold another meeting in the coming weeks.

According to information from 'Pats,' in Washington, Mirzoyan attempted to explain to Blinken that in the so-called 'Brussels package' of a possible Armenian-Azerbaijani agreement, it is desirable for any provision related to Artsakh to be somehow included.

According to our diplomatic source, Mirzoyan indicated that even vague, unclear, or abstract formulations regarding 'Artsakh' are necessary, suggesting that such an action would lead to a sharp change in public sentiment in Armenia. This is especially significant as the current government is being criticized for adopting a passive stance regarding Artsakh and for washing its hands of the issue.

Our source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that even the slightest mention of Artsakh could have a turning point significance in favor of a Western version of the agreement.

As per our information, the American side has not yet provided a final answer and has left the question unresolved for now.
