«Say it straight»: Simonyan appeals to Armenia
The head of the media group "Russia Today" and the RT television channel, Margarita Simonyan, has called on Armenia's border service to provide a direct answer regarding whether her entry to the republic is prohibited. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
"My personal life secrets have long been disclosed in the country’s entire yellow press. So, don’t beat around the bush, just say it directly," said Simonyan.
The media outlet reports that today, in response to the agency's inquiry, the commander of the border troops of the National Security Service, Arman Muradyan, stated that the information regarding Simonyan’s entry ban could not be provided because it contains personal data. He cited the "Law on Freedom of Information," according to which information can be refused if it "violates the secrecy of personal and family life, including the secrecy of correspondence, telephone conversations, mail, telegrams, and other communications."
