Man in Russia Hijacks Taxi with 3 Passengers, Then Demands Fare

In the city of Tavda, Sverdlovsk region of Russia, the police have detained a 21-year-old man who hijacked a Renault Logan taxi with three passengers on board, according to gazeta.ru.

“The owner of the Logan explained that he works for a taxi service and was on duty. He received a call from the dispatcher regarding an order, after which three women got into his vehicle. When the car began to move, an unknown man opened the front passenger door and tried to sit on top of a woman,” the report states.

After the taxi driver approached the violator, the latter hit him, took the driver's seat, and drove away. The hijacker later let the passengers out and demanded that they pay the fare, but was met with refusal.

The man was ultimately detained by the road police. Testing results revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol.
