Aliyev Not Only Threatens but Also Prepares for the Genocide of Artsakh Armenians: Pashinyan
During the opening of a government session, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on November 8. Pashinyan noted that Azerbaijan is violating the trilateral statement of November 9 and the agreements reached in various international platforms.
“To this day, Azerbaijan has not taken any steps towards initiating dialogue with the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh, despite the commitments made on several platforms. Meanwhile, they try to appear constructive and claim that the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are their citizens and their rights and security are guaranteed. To what extent this claim corresponds to reality can be practically proven by checking the conditions Azerbaijan has created for the safe return of thousands of residents of Hadrut and other Armenian-populated areas of Nagorno-Karabakh, who were displaced due to the 44-day war. No steps have been taken by Azerbaijan in this direction, which constitutes a gross violation of point 7 of the November 9 statement. Such actions and statements clearly indicate that Aliyev is not only threatening but also preparing for the genocide of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh,” said Pashinyan.
He further mentioned that this intention is also expressed in the Azerbaijani president's comments regarding the timelines for the deployment of peacekeeping forces, which, in turn, grossly violate at least three of the points adopted in the trilateral format.
