What Does Armenia Import and Export? Statistics

In the first 9 months of this year, the largest share of Armenia's exports has belonged to mineral products, while imports have been primarily comprised of machinery, equipment, and mechanisms. This is evidenced by the data published by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Exports from Armenia from January to September amounted to $3 billion 509 million 421.2 thousand, which is an increase of 63.8 percent compared to the same period last year. Exports to the EAEU countries totaled $1 billion 467 million 370.5 thousand, which has increased 2.4 times compared to the same period last year. The volume of exports from Armenia to EU countries was $606 million 568.3 thousand, showing a 23.9 percent increase from the previous year.

The most exported product from Armenia has been mineral products, amounting to $785 million 398.5 thousand, which is a 4.2-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The next major export is prepared food products, valued at $605 million 400.7 thousand, which has increased by 44.7 percent compared to January-September 2021.

Following that, the exports of precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals, and articles made from them amounted to $597 million 341.0 thousand during January-September this year, which is a 2.7-fold increase compared to the previous year.

In terms of imports, machinery, equipment, and mechanisms are at the top with $1 billion 109 million 076.2 thousand, which increased by 84.9 percent compared to last year. This is followed by mineral products valued at $858 million 430.1 thousand, an increase of 32.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The next category by import volume is vehicles for land, air, and sea transport, worth $511 million 170.4 thousand, which has seen a 2.7-fold increase compared to the same timeframe last year.
