Turkey Bans Certain Russian Flights Through Its Airspace
Turkish authorities have prohibited certain Russian aircraft from flying through their airspace.
This was reported by RBC, citing Anna Podgornaya, Executive Director of the Pegas Touristik tour operator and a member of the Board of Directors of Nordwind Airlines, as well as sources from two Russian carriers.
Podgornaya confirmed that Ankara has banned flights of Russian aircraft registered in multiple jurisdictions.
The measure came into effect on November 1. This will impact flights to destinations, such as Egypt. The flight duration to Egyptian resorts has increased by 20 to 30 minutes.
It has been reported that this does not affect ticket prices. Podgornaya added that the number of flights has not been reduced.
