Iran's Shrine Terror Attack Prepared by Azerbaijani Citizen
The terror attack at the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz was prepared by a citizen of Azerbaijan. This was announced today by the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic. The information was reported by TASS.
“The main organizer and coordinator of the acts of the terrorist group in the country was an Azerbaijani citizen who, upon arriving in Tehran, immediately contacted representatives of the ISIS group in Afghanistan and informed them that he was in Iran. The group that organized the attack on the mosque also included citizens from Afghanistan and Tajikistan,” the statement said.
A total of 26 individuals have been detained on suspicion of participating in the organization of the attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine. All of them are citizens of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.
Recall that on October 26, three unknown individuals opened fire on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz.
