Stoltenberg Declares Finland and Sweden Have Met Turkey's Requirements; Cavusoglu Responds
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that Finland and Sweden have fulfilled Turkey's requirements for joining NATO. This was reported by Kommersant.
“The time has come to say 'Welcome' to the two Scandinavian countries,” he stated.
Turkey, however, disagrees with Stoltenberg's assertion that Sweden and Finland have met the conditions agreed upon for joining the NATO alliance. This disagreement was voiced by Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in response to Stoltenberg's statement.
