VIDEO: Putin on Meeting with Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan

After the trilateral meeting held in Sochi, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the outcomes of the meeting with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan during a press conference.

It is noted that during today’s meeting, Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan agreed on a joint statement. Putin stated that while not everything was successfully coordinated, some measures had to be removed from the text previously developed at the expert level.

“Nevertheless, I agree with the overall assessment that the meeting was useful, and it creates conditions for further steps in the overall resolution of the situation. When I say overall, I mean both current events of the recent past as well as those that occurred two years ago. Still, at that time, we managed to reach agreements on fundamental issues. Today’s discussion also indicates that we can agree on the future of all our countries. I mean Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, as well as all countries in the region, because all peoples living in this area are interested in normalizing relations. Russia will do everything on its part to ensure a final and comprehensive resolution occurs. We will stay in touch, continue this dialogue, and seek the solutions necessary to end this prolonged conflict,” he said.
