Service Investigation Suspension Due to Outrageous Incident at ‘Yerablur’

The daily newspaper ‘Jojokhurd’ reports that based on their information, the service investigation regarding the outrageous incident that occurred on September 21, 2022, at ‘Yerablur’ has been suspended. It is recalled that a service investigation was launched in the Internal Security Department of the Armenian police following a scuffle at the military pantheon ‘Yerablur’.

In a conversation with ‘Jojokhurd’, Ara Fidanian, the Deputy Chief of the Armenian Police, confirmed the information regarding the suspension of the case. According to reports, when a criminal case was initiated at the Investigative Committee, the police decided to suspend the ongoing investigation in the Internal Security Department until the conclusion of that criminal case. This means that after the completion of the Investigative Committee’s inquiry, the police leadership will take the appropriate steps.

‘Jojokhurd’ learned that only a few days after the incident, no police officers or commanding officers have been held accountable in relation to the criminal case that was initiated. It is noteworthy that there are parents who suffered bodily harm, which has been confirmed by forensic examination, and they are recognized as victims; however, no one has faced any accountability so far. Perhaps there will be no punishment, as the beating evidently had political instructions behind it.
