Shoygu and Hulusi Akar Have Held a Phone Conversation

The Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, has had a phone conversation with the Minister of Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar. The parties discussed Russia's decision to suspend its participation in the grain deal. This was reported by Kp.ru.

“On October 31, Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held negotiations with Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. The issues of suspending the implementation of agreements regarding the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports within the framework of the 'Black Sea Grain Initiative' were discussed,” the statement said.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the suspension of its participation in the grain deal. The relevant instructions have already been received by Russian specialists working at the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul, where the control process for the transportation of Ukrainian food products is taking place.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes that a food deal without Russia's participation is unlikely to be feasible.
