VIDEO: Sukiasyan Claims Russian Version Considered Primary
During a conversation with journalists at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan ahead of the 6th Congress of the Civil Contract Party, MP Khachatur Sukiasyan stated that no comprehensive peace agreement will be signed at the trilateral meeting scheduled for October 31 in Sochi.
It is noteworthy that leaders from Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan will meet in Sochi on that date.
“In my opinion, it is possible that an agreement may be reached, perhaps some other document will be signed, but as far as I know, the peace document will not be signed at that time,” said Sukiasyan.
Regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the ruling party MP mentioned that he has heard from the media that the Russian version differs from the Western one. “The Western stance implies cultural independence, whereas in the case of Russia, there is an approach regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue that suggests a status quo must prevail and discussions should continue. I have heard from the media that the Russian version has been regarded as primary,” noted the ruling party MP.
