Russia Has Long Offered Armenia Solutions for the Karabakh Issue, but Yerevan Chose Its Own Path - Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, addressed the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh among other issues. Putin stated that "Russia has long offered Armenia solutions to the Karabakh issue by transferring five regions to Baku, from which people have left, but Yerevan chose its own path."
"We have proposed moving towards a resolution of relations," said the Russian leader at the Valdai Club meeting. However, he noted that the Armenian leadership opted for its own approach, which led to the current situation.
"Russia supports a peaceful resolution; we advocate for a peace treaty, delimitation, and demarcation. Armenia itself chooses the variant of the agreement; we will not impose our opinion. We will support any choice made by the Armenian people," he added.
