Russia Develops Scenarios for Responding to Nuclear Strikes, Exercises Conducted Under Putin's Supervision

Strategic deterrence forces have developed a response to a nuclear strike against Russia during exercises. This was announced by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as reported by Armenpress.

The maneuvers were conducted under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin.

"Comrade Supreme Commander-in-Chief, in accordance with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation's preparation plan, under your leadership, a command exercise of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is being conducted, during which tasks for delivering a massive nuclear strike by strategic offensive forces in response to an adversary’s nuclear strike will be developed," the defense minister reported to the head of state.

According to the General Staff, the exercises involved the mobile ground-based missile system "Yars" from the strategic missile troops, the strategic nuclear submarine "Tula" from the Northern Fleet, and two strategic bombers Tu-95MS from long-range aviation. Military personnel carried out a launch of the intercontinental ballistic missile "Yars" from the Plesetsk spaceport and a launch of the ballistic missile "Sineva" from the Barents Sea towards the Kura test site in Kamchatka. The Tu-95MS bombers performed launches of air-based cruise missiles, as reported by RIA Novosti.
