Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Artsakh, Colonel Garry Safaryan, and his wife, Rita Baghdasaryan, have been summoned to the Prosecutor's Office. This information was reported by Tert.am, citing the Prosecutor's Office.
They received a notification that an investigation is being conducted regarding the properties belonging to them within the framework of the Department for the Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, resulting in a summary document.
From the moment of receiving the notification, they are required to appear within one month at the Department for the Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin to review the case materials, present their position, as well as a declaration.
Tert.am also reports that “Veradznund” LLC was among the companies involved in landscaping works in Stepanakert, having completed works worth 263 million 981 thousand drams by 2020. The company is 50.3% owned by Colonel Garry Safaryan and 49.7% by his wife, Rita Baghdasaryan. In the asset, income, and related entity declarations of high-ranking officials, Safaryan Garry and Baghdasaryan Rita have not reported any income other than their salaries for the years 2013-2017.
