OSCE Mission Visits Positions in Jermuk
OSCE needs assessment mission delegation has visited the town of Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor province. This information was reported by Jermuk community head Vahagn Arsenyan on his Facebook page.
“Prior to ascending to the defensive positions, the situation created after the Azerbaijani attack on September 13 was presented during a meeting (attended by Major General Smbat Grigoryan and senior military officials). The damage to civil infrastructure and the threats that emerged after the Azerbaijani aggression (the previous distance of Azerbaijani forces from the city and their current locations) were also discussed,” the statement noted.
The meeting was followed by an actual documentation of the situation directly on-site. The delegation visited the defensive positions, the Jermuk cable car, and various parts of the city, documenting the information regarding the inflicted damages with evidence.
It is worth mentioning that since September 13, Azerbaijani army units have been intensively shelling the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk using artillery and large-caliber weapons. The adversary also deployed drones.
Since 20:00 on September 14, a ceasefire regime has been established along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which has been periodically violated by the Azerbaijani side.
