Expected and Appropriate: Hrachya Hakobyan on Banning Zatulins Entry into Armenia

If a politician from another country interferes in our internal political life and makes statements, for example, that the Prime Minister should resign, or intervenes in other political issues, I believe such a step was expected and appropriate. This was stated by Hrachya Hakobyan, a member of the ruling faction, during a conversation with reporters regarding the decision to ban Konstantin Zatulin, the head of the Russian Federation’s CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Compatriots Connection Committee, from entering Armenia.

“I consider it not only appropriate but also have already stated why I consider it appropriate. We have our internal political life, and it is undesirable for a politician from another country to interfere in our internal political affairs. As far as I know, Zatulin has not made a single statement; on various occasions, he has attempted to interfere in our internal affairs. Why should we allow any foreign citizen, especially an official, to meddle in our internal political life?” Hakobyan emphasized, noting that this issue has not been discussed within the faction.
