Zelensky Stated Conditions Under Which the Russia-Iran Alliance Would Not Have Formed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Russia would not have sought military cooperation with Iran had Israel not rejected Kyiv's requests for air defense systems, according to Jpost.

“There would be no Russia-Iran alliance if the leaders of Israel agreed to help defend Ukraine's skies,” he stated at a conference organized by the Haaretz newspaper.

Zelensky once again criticized Israel's policy regarding the Ukraine-Russia war, stating that it is “time for Israel to make a choice,” indicating that he is on the side of “democratic” nations as opposed to those “turning a blind eye to Russian terrorism.”

If Ukraine “had closed its skies immediately, Russia would not have had the motivation to turn to Iran.”

“We have been asking for help from Israel since 2014,” Zelensky lamented. “The decision of your state and your governments has been not to ‘provoke’ the Kremlin, which has effectively meant not helping Ukraine.”
