Lukashenko: Dollar and Euro Are 'Toxic Currencies'
The state is overcoming issues related to ensuring the calculations of economic entities engaged in foreign trade operations. This was stated by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, as reported by BelTA. According to him, under the current conditions, this issue is largely dependent on foreign banks.
"The situation has become complicated, but nevertheless, it seems we are overcoming it. However, there are specific moments. I feel this when I am at specific enterprises where they ask for assistance," said Lukashenko.
During a meeting with representatives of the banking sector, the Belarusian leader demanded clarification on all contentious issues related to foreign trade operations. As noted by the Belarusian president, over 75 percent of the calculations for export and import operations worldwide are conducted in dollars and euros.
"For us, the dollar and euro are toxic currencies," Lukashenko emphasized.
