Georgian President Unaware of Ilham Aliyev's Visit to the Country
The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, was not informed about the visit of her Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, to Tbilisi.
“The President was not informed about the working visit of the President of a neighboring and friendly country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, to Georgia. Despite the Georgian President's desire and readiness, unfortunately, the traditional meeting of the presidents, which usually takes place during the visits of heads of state to the country, did not occur,” the statement from the President's office said.
Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, mentioned that the country plans to double its natural gas exports to Europe over the next five years.
