Ruben Vardanyan Makes a Statement

The meeting with representatives of the government and residents in Martakert was truly impressive. This was stated by Ruben Vardanyan, the initiator of the "Future Armenian" movement and co-founder of the "Aurora" humanitarian initiative on his Facebook page.

“Martakert is quite far from Stepanakert, and unfortunately, high-ranking individuals do not visit here frequently. It was evident that the residents have a need for open and sincere communication. People live under difficult conditions here, but I was surprised to find that they are concerned not so much with daily issues and worries, but with questions regarding education and future prospects. The residents here deserve great respect. For them, the defense of the homeland and civic duty are not just words, but a way of life. This was also demonstrated by Arsen Avanesyan, the head of the Martakert regional administration, who had returned from duty at the positions the day before our meeting. The people here know very well that no one else can protect their home except themselves,” wrote Vardanyan.
