Alexis Ohanian Shares Photo of His Armenian Ancestors with Emotional Message

American-Armenian businessman Alexis Ohanian has shared a photograph of his ancestors on his Instagram page, captioning it: “They tried to erase us, but we prevailed.”

In his post, he introduced all the individuals in the photograph. The little boy on the right side is Alexis Ohanian's grandfather. The tall girl is Alexis's great-aunt, who, according to the businessman, played a significant role in his education.

“My great-grandfather witnessed Turkish soldiers beheading his parents; he grew up in a Turkish orphanage. And my great-grandmother fled through the deserts of Aleppo as a child, experiencing horrific days,” he wrote.

Alexis concluded his post with these words: “One of the biggest mistakes you can make against an Armenian is to try to erase us from the face of the earth. It doesn’t work. It only makes us stronger.”

Ohanian added that Armenians will never stop thriving, and this will be a daily reminder for enemies that they have failed.
