"We Must Save the Georgians, Moldova, and Armenia": Arestovich
The advisor to the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovich, stated that in the future, Kyiv will not only save the "Georgians" but also "Armenia, Moldova."
“We must save the Georgians. Save Moldova, Armenia. Save everyone. This is a great story because our millions of boys and girls who have fought will always find work in the near future in the post-Soviet space,” the Ukrainian official declared, adding that he is referring to "peacekeepers, stabilizing efforts, humanitarian actions."
Arestovich again addressed Georgia, calling its government “pro-Russian, incapable of making decisions, which has destroyed everything that Saakashvili created.”
The remarks of the Ukrainian president's advisor, as well as similar statements from other high-ranking Ukrainian officials, have provoked a strong reaction in the political arena of Georgia. In particular, Arestovich had stated in recent weeks that Georgia “has a historical opportunity to reclaim Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” and that the political stance of the Georgian authorities will be evaluated by the Georgian people at the elections.
