Hotel Housing Ukrainian Refugees Completely Burns Down in Germany

In Germany, a hotel housing Ukrainian refugees was almost completely destroyed in a suspected arson incident late on the night of October 20. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the emergency event, according to RIA Novosti.

According to law enforcement officials, one of the walls of the hotel in the community of Groß Schwansee, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state, caught fire on the evening of October 20, allowing all residents to evacuate the building in time.

"The hotel served as accommodation for Ukrainian refugees. The police believe it to be an arson, and the criminal investigation unit from the city of Wismar is on site," stated a message from the Rostock district police department.

The fire department managed to extinguish the flames, but the building was nearly entirely destroyed. Authorities suspect that the cause of the blaze was intentional arson.
