VIDEO: Will Citizenship Be Denied to Turks and Azerbaijanis? Kerobyan Responds
During a press briefing with journalists, Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan addressed the government's proposed initiative to grant citizenship through a simplified process to those who invest $150,000 in the country. He emphasized that foreign investments are always encouraged in Armenia, and investments made by private individuals are equally welcomed as those made by large companies.
In response to the question of whether there is a concern about Turks and Azerbaijanis potentially making investments and becoming citizens of Armenia, Kerobyan stated, 'The issue is not about who applies for citizenship; the necessary procedures will be carried out by both the police and the National Security Service, and these matters will be neutralized at that level. We will not end up in a situation where we have an excessive number of dual citizens from Turkey.'
