This is a real forgery, pure lie: Zakharova

The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has labeled the claims made by Western special envoys regarding the Holocaust as false and a lie, asserting that the USSR allegedly censored documents related to the Holocaust, including precise research and documentation of the massacres of Jews at Babi Yar.

On September 29, the U.S. State Department published a joint statement from special representatives concerning the Holocaust, which claimed that 45 years after the end of World War II, the Soviet Union had allegedly censored Holocaust documents, including accurate studies.

According to the American side, representatives from Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Romania, Great Britain, and the USA made such statements.

“This is a real forgery, pure lie...,” wrote Zakharova on her Telegram channel. She recalled that three months after the tragedy at Babi Yar, in January 1942, the newspaper “Pravda” published a text from Vyacheslav Molotov, the People’s Commissar for Foreign Affairs, which was sent to all governments and missions of countries not at war with the USSR, detailing the horrific atrocities committed by the German authorities.

“The special envoys have come out with forgeries, cynically accusing our country of trying to ‘distort and appropriate the history of the Holocaust.’ At the same time, there has been no condemnation of the Kyiv regime, which has openly and consistently elevated all Nazis to the status of national heroes since 2014,” added Zakharova.
