If Israel Supplies Weapons to Ukraine, They Could End Up in Iran: Netanyahu
The leader of Israel's main opposition party, Likud, and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed concern that if Israel supplies arms to Ukraine, they may end up in Iran. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“But on this issue, I believe they are conducting a sensible policy... there is always the possibility, and this has happened multiple times, that weapons we have supplied to a conflict zone have ended up in the hands of Iran and have been used against us,” Netanyahu said in an interview with the American MSNBC television.
He urged against canceling sanctions imposed on Iran, emphasizing the need to remain committed to a “consistent policy” regarding Tehran.
Addressing the accusations from Kyiv that Israel is not supplying them with arms, Netanyahu noted that his country has accepted many Ukrainian refugees and is trying to provide humanitarian support.
Earlier, Israel's Minister of Diaspora Affairs Nachman Shai stated that Israel should provide military assistance to Ukraine following confirmed reports of Iran supplying ballistic missiles to Russia (official representatives from both Russia and Iran denied this information).
