Three-Day Mourning Declared in Yeisk Region
A three-day mourning period has been declared in the Yeisk region of Russia’s Krasnodar Territory in memory of the citizens who lost their lives due to a fire caused by a military aircraft crash.
As reported, the previous day, a Russian Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber crashed during a training flight. The aircraft fell in the city of Yeisk, within a residential area of the Krasnodar Territory. A large fire broke out due to the ignition of the aircraft's fuel in a nine-story building, resulting in the death toll reaching 13, including 3 children. There are 19 injured, among whom 5 are children.
The mourning period in the Yeisk region is set from October 17 to 19. The main cause of the aircraft crash is being pointed to as technical malfunction.
