Pentagon Decides to Accelerate Delivery of Two Advanced Air Defense Systems to Ukraine

The Pentagon has decided to expedite the delivery of two advanced NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine. These systems are designed to protect Washington's interests, and with their assistance, Kyiv will be able to counter drone attacks from Iran that are being utilized by Russia, reports CNN.

Overall, the U.S. Department of Defense has approved the delivery of eight NASAMS units, including two advanced systems. Washington had promised to send two complexes by July 1. However, the American company Raytheon, in collaboration with Norway's Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace, is producing NASAMS systems for Ukraine and hopes to complete the manufacturing of the two systems by the end of October or early November. After that, additional time will be required for delivery.

According to sources familiar with the intelligence data provided to CNN, Russia is expending precision-guided munitions and may deplete its strategic reserves to continue the war. Meanwhile, Russia still has significantly less precise Soviet-era weapons available to strike Ukraine.
