Thousands Take to the Streets in Paris Against Price Hikes

A march is ongoing in Paris against the rise in prices and the government’s "climate inaction." The protest against the cost of living in the French capital is organized by Jean-Luc Mélenchon's left-wing party “France Insoumise,” the “Europe Ecology – The Greens” party, the Socialist Party, as well as various trade unions and associations.

The demands of the protesters include increases in wages and social benefits, freezing electricity prices, imposing a super-profits tax, and investing in environmental projects. Demonstrators are voicing their discontent over the rising costs of fuel and food, as well as the increase in the retirement age. Additionally, participants are expressing dissatisfaction with France’s military aid to Ukraine.

It is worth noting that last week, a large demonstration took place in Paris calling for the resignation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
