Armenia Wins First Gold Medal at Sambo World Championship
Vačhagan Vardanyan, the head of the Culture and Sports Department of the Shirak Regional Administration, announced on his Facebook page that Armenia has won its first gold medal at the Sambo World Championship taking place in Yerevan.
The gold medal was secured by young athlete Robert Simonyan from Gyumri. Robert Simonyan, who won the gold medal, is a student of the renowned Armenian coach Hayk Avetisyan.
