School Vacation Days Announced

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has officially announced the vacation days for students in primary general education, specialized, and special state educational institutions, as established by the minister's decree for the 2022-2023 academic year.

For the academic year 2022-2023, students in grades 3-12 will have the following vacation periods: autumn vacation from October 24 to 30, 2022, inclusive; winter vacation from December 26, 2022, to January 8, 2023, inclusive; and spring vacation from March 27 to April 2, 2023, inclusive.

For first graders, the autumn vacation is scheduled from October 17 to 30, 2022, inclusive; winter vacation from December 26, 2022, to January 22, 2023, inclusive; and spring vacation from March 20 to April 2, 2023, inclusive.

Second graders will have their autumn vacation from October 24 to 30, 2022, inclusive; winter vacation from December 26, 2022, to January 22, 2023, inclusive; and spring vacation from March 27 to April 2, 2023, inclusive.

According to the educational plan, in the event of force majeure (adverse weather conditions, the spread of acute infectious diseases, natural disasters, etc.), the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports can establish additional vacation days by making changes to the schedule of educational activities and vacation days set for students. Educational institutions may also implement such changes with prior notification to the relevant authority, especially if they need to compensate for missed classes before the end of the academic period or organize remote learning.

It has also been established that the academic activities for the 2022-2023 school year will conclude on May 26, 2023, for a five-day working week, and on May 27, 2023, for a six-day working week, ensuring a minimum of 30 weeks of instruction for the first grade, 32 weeks for the second grade, and 34 weeks for grades 3-12.
