Our President Discussed All These Issues in a Friendly and Sincere Atmosphere During the Meeting with Pashinyan: Cavusoglu

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has described the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Prague as positive. At the same time, he characterized the decision to open airspace and initiate direct flights as a positive gesture toward Armenia.

According to Armenpress, Cavusoglu made the remarks during an interview on Turkish TVNET’s program 'Clear Perspective.'

"We have made gestures - we have opened our airspace, direct flights have started, and we are doing other gestures such as some work at the borders... There are rivers that demarcate our borders that need to be examined for any changes in their courses, as well as roads, bridges, and crossings. In other words, in the future, when relations are normalized, the borders need to be opened, and preparations need to be made for that. After all, our president discussed all these issues amicably and sincerely with Pashinyan in a productive atmosphere," said Cavusoglu.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 6 in Prague. According to information provided by the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, both sides emphasized the importance of direct contacts and high-level meetings in the context of Armenia-Turkey normalization.

Pashinyan and Erdogan discussed the process of normalizing Armenia-Turkey relations and potential steps in that direction. The need for the prompt implementation of agreements reached as a result of discussions between the special representatives of the two countries was also emphasized. In particular, this relates to the opening of land borders for citizens of third countries and the implementation of direct air cargo transport between Armenia and Turkey. Thoughts were exchanged on regional processes as well.
