International Community Urges Pashinyan to Sign Peace Agreement by Year-End

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the collective West is demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sign a peace agreement by the end of the year. According to our sources, the issue was discussed behind closed doors on October 6 in Prague.

There are indications that Azerbaijani President Aliyev has proposed to sign the agreement on November 9. Two years ago, on the same day, the capitulation statement following the war was signed, and he now wants to repeat that victory.

Pashinyan opposed this, stating that this date holds a negative connotation for the Armenian people and that some might assume that the peace agreement will not open new doors for them, as he is trying to convince, but rather will represent a second capitulation.

Moreover, Nikol Pashinyan has raised the issue of the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from Armenian sovereign territory, asserting that he will not sign any agreement until troops have withdrawn.

Azerbaijan has not lost interest in receiving a corridor through Meghri, and even within government circles, the risk of a new escalation is not being ruled out.
