Elon Musk Reveals When and What He Discussed with Vladimir Putin

American billionaire Elon Musk has denied reports that he discussed the "peace plan for Ukraine" with Russian President Vladimir Putin before tweeting about it. "No, I have only spoken with Putin once, and that was about 18 months ago, and the topic was space," Musk wrote.

Previously, the major American publication Vice, citing the CEO of the Eurasia Group consulting firm Ian Bremmer, reported that Elon Musk spoke with Putin before the announcement of the plan to achieve peace in Ukraine.

According to Bremmer, Musk claimed that Putin is "ready to negotiate," but only if Crimea remains Russian, and Ukraine remains neutral while recognizing the transition of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions to Russia.

"This is quite a serious accusation. Ultimately, Musk could be sued for violating the Logan Act, which prohibits U.S. citizens from privately engaging in diplomacy, bypassing the American state. Not to mention all the attempts to portray Musk as a 'pro-Russian billionaire' in order to somehow damage his reputation in American society," said American studies expert Malek Dudakov to Vzglyad.
