Warrant Issued for Russian Officials Shoygu, Narishkin and Others in Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine has issued a warrant for several high-ranking Russian officials, including members of the Security Council and the heads of both chambers of parliament. According to Kommersant, a total of about 700 representatives of the Russian government are currently wanted in Ukraine.
Among them are Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, National Guard Chief Viktor Zolotov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Narishkin, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Ministry of Defense spokesperson Igor Konashenkov, and others.
All of them have been charged under Article 110 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code for "Violation of Territorial Integrity and Inviolability." The Russian officials wanted are listed on the Ukrainian intelligence service's website as being under "hidden investigation." Each card includes a "date of disappearance," mainly from March 2022.
In response, Investigative Committee head Alexander Bastrykin has ordered a "legal assessment of the illegal criminal prosecution of more than 700 Russian officials by the SBU." Earlier, he also ordered a criminal case to be opened concerning Dmitry Medvedev's "illegal criminal prosecution."
