Poland Begins Checking Country's 62,000 Shelters Amid Ukrainian Events

In Poland, authorities responsible for public safety are cataloging the more than 60,000 shelters located throughout the country. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Maciej Wonsik, as reported by Kp.ru. He stated that these are planned activities and that nothing currently threatens Poland.

"The state fire service now has the task of determining the conditions of these shelters and whether they are suitable for use in emergencies, taking into account the standards for population and civil protection," Wonsik explained.

Summarizing the inventory, the deputy minister confirmed that there are 62,000 shelters in Poland ready for use in emergency situations. At the same time, he reassured the public that life in Poland is safe, and the country is not under threat.

Discussions about the condition of shelters among the Polish public have intensified in the context of events in Ukraine. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced massive strikes against Ukraine's infrastructure. According to the Russian leader, these are retaliatory measures for the terrorist act on the Crimean bridge, which he equated to aggression against Russia.
