EU's Prosperity Relied on Cheap Energy from Russia, Borrell

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, stated that the prosperity of the EU was based on cheap energy from Russia, and now it is necessary to seek energy sources within Europe. He made these remarks during a meeting with EU ambassadors, as reported by РИА Новости.

“The best energy is the one produced internally. People still do not realize that Russia and China will no longer be what they were for the development of our economy; this requires serious restructuring of the Union's economy,” he said.

Borrell emphasized that access to the Chinese market is becoming increasingly difficult as well.
