Around 50,000 Tourists in Crimea Promised Evacuation by Ferries
Around 50,000 tourists are currently in Crimea, as reported by the Association of Russian Tour Operators. Zarina Doguzova, the head of Rostourism, announced that food and heating points will be set up near the entrances to the bridge for those who have already traveled to Crimea by car or vice versa. A hotline has also been established for tourists located in Crimea, she added.
Sergey Aksyonov, the head of Crimea, has requested that tourists planning to leave the peninsula on October 8 stay an additional day in hotels and resorts. According to Aksyonov, the expenses will be compensated.
It should be noted that today an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, which crosses the Kerch Strait, resulting in a portion of the automobile bridge collapsing. Following the explosion, several fuel tanks of a freight train caught fire. The Russian Investigative Committee reported that three people have died as a result of the explosion on the Crimean Bridge.
