US Urges Ukraine to Launch Decisive Offensive in South Before Winter Begins: FT

Washington is urging Ukraine to launch a decisive offensive in the south before winter begins. This was reported by Kp.ru, referencing the Financial Times.

According to the newspaper, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy stated that if Russia blocks Ukraine's access to water resources from Mariupol to Odesa, it would result in a long-term disaster for Kyiv. “The Russians have put in a lot of effort and spent a lot of time fortifying themselves in a slightly different manner than in the east. They have been able to move armored vehicles there and have built basic defensive structures around,” noted a senior NATO official.

According to the expert, for Kyiv to succeed in this direction, they will need significantly superior forces.

Earlier, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell allowed for EU involvement in a diplomatic resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, stating that at the same time, the EU plans to strengthen its military, financial, and political support for Kyiv.
